iPhone Xr Contract Deals – How To Find Them
The iPhone Xr is the most impressive of all the iPhones launched lately - and not because of the strength of the tech — it's simply undeniable that the more expensive iPhone 11 is slightly ahead in a lot of areas — but does what you're 'saving' by going for this model far outweigh what you're losing? If you want a new iPhone on contract, check this one out first; with that, let's get our review underway...

What sets the Apple iPhone Xr apart?
iPhone X🅁 really is up to the most demanding of requirements - and so it should be. This is provided by the built-in 6-core processor Apple A12 Bionic as well as main memory in cooperation with the operating software iOS 12. The display diagonal of the useful dual-SIM phones is a remarkable 6.1".
This fact makes it less manageable in your hand; but videos , web pages and even the new menu are displayed very clearly thanks mainly to these dimensions. You can expect awesome Full HD picture quality to playback your videos and games thanks to the high-spec resolution of 1792 x 828 pixels.
In addition, because of the so-called IPS technology, you can see intense colours from all angles.
However, there are some changes to make the iPhone XR cheaper than it's bigger brother, the iPhone XS. The cost difference is about £200 cheaper here, so what's changed?
Compared to the iPhone XS, the iPhone XR is downgraded in a number of ways to hit that lower price point. That said, there are a number of key features that are the same: iOS 12 is the operating system that runs things, and it’s backed up by the wildly-powerful A12 Bionic chipset inside.
The notch contains all the same front-facing cameras and sensors as the iPhone XS, and the dual speakers still face the same way when pumping out sound.
No 3D Touch on the iPhone XR
There’s one way to know if you use a feature on an iPhone, and that’s to take it away, and see if you miss it. Anyone coming from a later-series Apple handset will have had access to 3D Touch, where pressing the screen harder opens menus or activates different features in apps.
This feature has been removed for the iPhone XR, presumably to save money – instead you have to do a ‘long press’ to do the same thing. So if you ever accessed shortcuts by pushing harder on an app, or opened the torch with a harder prod on the lock screen… well, that’s gone.
The king of photo-taking
With the built-in camera you can shoot stunning photos - iPhone XR is equipped with a total of 2 cameras. The resolution of the main camera of 12 MP shoots detailed, high-resolution images, which are also displayed on large monitors or printed products. However, the generated footage needs a bit more space.
The optical image stabiliser ensures less blurry shots - Mashable tested it here. Via the video shooting mode, you can shoot movies in 4K quality. The front camera has a resolution of 7 MP. With it you take good quality self-portraits or video calls with Skype.
Unlike many other mobile phones, Apple models have vendor-specific interfaces. Therefore, the data transfer of the iPhone X🅁 works by means of the Lightning connection. You can also connect headphones or headphones via Lightning or Bluetooth. An Internet connection can be established in the home network thanks to the WLAN ac interface as well as on the road via the latest, superfast 4G network.
Features at a glance:
- Fingerprint sensor for easy unlock
- Resistant/tough phone casing
- At the cutting edge of 2019 technology
- Excellent video recording quality in UHD
- LTE-capable Dual sim card reader
- Content clearly visible thanks to the bulky 6.1-inch Retina display
- Great performance, even with complex apps
Thanks to dual-SIM technology, you couls use 2x SIM cards from different network providers in the same device. For example, you can make one-to-one phone calls while taking advantage of another, or using the phone for both personal and business purposes.
iPhone XR goes further
Calling time up to 25 hours is no problem. A power supply can not only be done by power adapter - optionally, the iPhone XR has Qi technology even wireless charging. Additional security for your data is provided by the integrated fingerprint sensor: only your own fingerprint unlocks the phone.
Overall, the iPhone's external skin is more durable because it is protected from dust and water.
XR: the Foned verdict
Apple's colourful iPhone Xr is characterised by its robust workmanship and a powerful battery with fast charging function. The TrueDepth camera allows detailed recordings, which you can subsequently edit by means of depth control.
The internal memory of the smartphone, however, is not expandable. If you want to save many apps, pictures and videos, it is worth opting for one of the two larger variants. Overall, it's a great phone and in our opinion the best iPhone on the market today.
If you aren't sure between this and the equivalent Galaxy S model, and are considering a switch to Android, then the Galaxy S10e by our reckoning is the equivalent model.
The iPhone XR is still a great buy, even if it has been replaced by the iPhone 11 range eg the iPhone 11 Pro or 11 Pro Max. But those cost about £500 more respectively than this model, and given that the iPhone XR is still available on contract and outright, Apple haven't yet discontinued it, so most people will struggle to justify the additional costs.
How much does iPhone XR cost on contract?
Paying monthly is often the most cost-effective way to buy a new iPhone, and the XR is no different. Even though it's the cheapest of the X 2018 models, it'll still set you back about £30 a month for a 24 month contract.
The cost of the handset alone if purchased outright from a store is about £600 so this explains why the monthly price for the iPhone XR is not exactly cheap. However it is the cheapest of all the models and almost half the price of the iPhone XS Max.
