iPhone 12 Contract Deals – How To Find Them

iPhone 12 deals are available from all the major UK networks on pay monthly. This includes the stonking great deal of £22 a month on Vodafone including unlimited 5G data.

But is the iPhone 12 worth it, or should you upgrade to the larger iPhone 12 Pro Max?

Here is our at-a-glance review, using Simple English.

Quick Facts: iPhone 12

iPhone 12 has superfast 5G, A14 Bionic, the fastest chip in a smartphone, 6.1-inch display built with Gorilla Glass and an aluminium frame. The scratch resistant glass with oleophobic coating also provides extra protection.

The Super Retina XDR display and a camera system that takes low-light photography to the next level. The sound is also high quality with stereo speakers. Overall, iPhone 12 is great - but how much does it cost on pay monthly?

Whether you're in the market for a new smartphone or just need a refresher on what this device has to offer, you can find a wealth of information about the iPhone 12 here in the Foned review.

Display: Is it any good?

The iPhone 12 marks a major upgrade over previous models like the iPhone 11, offering an updated design, full 5G support, superior cameras and improved performance. Unfortunately, its base storage remains somewhat limited and Apple's MagSafe charging puck doesn't charge as quickly as some wired chargers do.

The iPhone 12 offers a welcome change from past models' rounded edges, featuring flat surfaces. Plus, it boasts a Ceramic Shield that increases drop resistance four times more than Gorilla Glass does.

Features of iPhone 12

The iPhone 12 is an aesthetically pleasing smartphone featuring a 6.1-inch OLED display, superfast 5G connectivity and dual camera system. Additionally, it boasts the powerful A14 Bionic processor and Face ID to quickly unlock your phone securely and conveniently.

The 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display utilises OLED technology for superior colors and near infinite contrast. Plus, it is compatible with Dolby Vision for even greater depth and detail in contefnt.

The iPhone 12 also boasts an intelligent home screen widget that displays the most pertinent apps based on your usage patterns. This ensures quick access to your favourite apps when you're out and about.

Design: Is it a hit?

Apple's iPhone 12 offers a unique blend of familiarity and innovation... yes, really. While its design nods back to previous iPhone models with squared-off edges, it has also been upgraded with an improved display and 5G compatibility.

For those hesitant to invest in a brand-new model but still want the newest features, the iPhone 12 is an excellent option. Its 5G connectivity will provide faster internet access and its OLED screen supports Dolby Vision for enhanced visuals.

Performance improvements of iPhone 12

The primary enhancements in trms of performance are a faster Image Signal Processor and 16-core Neural Engine. These accelerate photo and video processing, applying Deep Fusion improvements more rapidly.

Additionally, it supports Smart HDR 3 and Cinema-grade Dolby Vision video recording.

With its 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio and up to 1200 nits peak brightness, you're guaranteed a great viewing experience on-the-go. Plus, with Super Retina XDR technology, you'll get incredible visuals when watching movies, playing games or taking selfies.

iPhone 12 - Battery life

Compared to iPhone 11, the Battery life of iPhone 12 is actually (and surprisingly) smaller. What does this mean? Well, the iPhone 12 battery has a smaller capacity, and it is paired with a less powerful A14 Bionic chip. But, the iPhone 12 does have a better battery management system, which improves the battery's longevity.

The iPhone 12 is also equipped with a nifty facedown detection feature, which turns off the display when it is face down. But most iPhone models have had this, going all the way back to iPhone 7.

5G is FINALLY here

The iPhone 12 is the first iPhone to support 5G connectivity, which has been a source of some controversy. Apple knew that 5G would consume a lot of battery power, and the company took steps to ensure that the iPhone would last as long as possible.

However, the iPhone 12 does not come equipped with a 20W charger, which would offset the device's reduced battery capacity. So you'll have to buy one sadly.

And, as with other iPhones, you'll have to keep up with updates and maintain the device's battery health.

The iPhone 12 has a battery that lasts for up to five hours and fifty minutes, according to various reviews. That isn't a terrible battery life, but it is a bit disappointing. The iPhone 11 is also a tiny bit longer, with a battery that lasts for a bit over four hours and twenty minutes.

Contracts - Which is best for iPhone 12?

The iPhone 12 is available on contract from several networks and mobile resellers in the UK.

There are great deals around and contracts for the standard model are getting cheaper all the time, making it a great option if you're in search of top-notch performance.Prices start from £0 upfront and £14 a month on various networks.

Similarly, the  iPhone 12 Pro and Max models are still available from some networks but are becoming harder to locate if you want a brand new phones. If interested in one of these models, take a look at our price table on each respective page, to see what pay monthly deals exist for each.

Alternatively, consider trying refurbished iPhone 12 models if budgeting is an issue; finally, switching networks may be your best bet for getting your hands on an iPhone 12. With no upfront payments necessary, switching carriers could also save you money since there's no need to pay any of the full price upfront!

Is SIM Only better for iPhone 12?

Generally speaking, SIM Only is cheaper but you don't have the benefit of paying monthly for your handset like the Apple iPhone 12, so it only really makes financial sense if you are in the fortunate position to be able to buy the handset outright first. Yes, it works out cheaper overall if you can do that, at least nearly always – but it is really a personal preference. Find out more about SIM Only Deals here

Not sure which mobile network to go for?

Foned completely gets it, it's not easy trying to understand the differences of each mobile network operator. Is o2 any better than Vodafone for this smartphone, when it comes to coverage? Or worse? It's a real minefield. Another example, which is better? A Apple iPhone 12 ee contract or a Apple iPhone 12 Tesco Mobile contract?

The reality is, it can make a huge difference to your satifaction with the overall product. Who wants to have cruddy download speeds? But never fear – Foned is here. Don't forget to check our latest Blog posts below.

Before you decide to buy a contract or handset, it's important to know if you'll get a signal. Who wants to be walking around into mobile network's blackholes?! After all, ordering your brand new Apple iPhone 12 contract only to find you can't use your data (never mind going over the allowance!) in your own house will be pretty not cool.

A simple website a number of our visitors have used is Open Signal which maps signals across all major mobile networks within the UK.

So which UK network has the best signal?

According to Which?, in their recent research, they focused on 4G performance and found that EE offered the fastest average 4G download speeds of the four networks (EE, O2, Three and Vodafone). While EE customers enjoyed average 4G download speeds of 29Mbps, those using the O2 network had to put up with an average speed of just 15.1Mbps.

EE's network was also at the top of the list when it came to the availability of its 4G signal, with customers able to access it 78.5% of the time. Customers with Three had the poorest access to a 4G signal - they were able to access it just 57.1% of the time – that's only just more than half the time, 24/7!
