For a lot of people, nothing can top the iPad. The device is both lightweight and portable, making it ideal for those who travel in their daily life. But did you know that there are many ‘hidden’ features on an iPad that you probably didn’t even know about? Down below are a few features that can help you get the most out of your iPad.
Automatic icon organisation
As your iPad may contain dozens of apps – more than you could possibly handle – the iPad’s automatic icon organisation can save you a lot of time and effort. If you want to avoid creating folders, then this tool is definitely for you. To access the organisation tool, go to settings and select General Reset. Next, tap the Reset Home Screen Layout and your icons will automatically return to their initial starting positions while any app that you have downloaded will be automatically organised.
Virtual magnifying glass
A pretty handy tool is the magnifying glass which is available on the iPad. To use it, go into the settings menu and select Accessibility. From there tap Zoom and move the slider into On Position, which will allow you to zoom in and out with ease. With the Zoom setting turned on, you can control the magnifying glass by holding and dragging one of the edges. To make the Zoom menu appear, triple-tap the screen.
Text-to-speech
If you want to give your eyes a break from a digital screen, then the iPad has you covered with their text-to-speech feature. This feature is available in iBooks which allows you to listen to one of your favourite books while cooking or getting ready for bed. It is also available when accessing a section of text. To enable this feature, go to Settings, select accessibility and tap ‘Speaker Selection’. By doing this, you’ll add a ‘speak’ option to the menu which appears after you highlight a section of text.
Song identification
The iPad features song identification capabilities – just ask Siri to identify the song for you. You can even access iTunes to buy the song for your iPad.
