iPhone 6s Plus Contract Deals – How To Find Them

The Apple iPhone 6s Plus is slightly larger than iPhone 6S, and is equipped with fairly decent hardware and features sophisticated features like 3D Touch. Also noteworthy is its energy efficiency compared to some rivals. It's now looking a bit old in the tooth to some, but it's still a worthy consideration for those who don't need any of the flashy (and arguably unnecessary) latest developments in handset technology.  It's a particularly good choice for those on a budget.

Apple's iPhone 6s and 6s Plus are the now somewhat older smartphones and have been replaced with more improved devices from the manufacturer in recent years. However the perks and benefits according to the experts for the 6s still stand today: with 4.7-inch display and features such as 3D Touch and new hardware components camera and processor were both well received in tests. Let's take a closer look...

A wide range of functions, on a budget

What the 6S  Plus offers, among other things, is 3D Touch — a function that is triggered by pressing the touch screen more intensively.  So after pressing the icon, a menu is displayed, which could come up with four functions. However, this feature is not completely new, because Apple Watch had the 3D Touch feature for a few years prior. That said, it's still impressive to behold.

Further optimisations compared to the previous year's model, for example, are the new 64-bit A9 processor, which, paired with the improved CPU, should be able to perform intensive tasks even more quickly. For the camera, Apple is now offering a whopping 12 megapixels and new features such as "Live Photos" to record moments before and after the image capture, as well as the ability to make 4K videos. This time around, the Cupertino-based company is avoiding the criticism of the previous generation's bent-over case by using  7000-grade aluminum as the material of choice.

Even the case colours are exquisite: in addition to gold, silver and space grey, there are are pink gold variants to choose from (also called millennial pink).

The memory sizes for the 6s Plus are set as usual to 16, 64 and 128GB as we've seen in other recent iPhones.

Sturdy aluminum housing, improved camera

Other new features at the time of launch included the updated voice control via Siri, which should respond to the command "Hey, Siri". In addition, the aluminum housing proved in advance in the test that it is particularly resistant.

The 6S Plus (like the normal iPhone 6s) is also energy efficient, in spite of lower battery capacity. However, this reduced battery charge compared to its predecessor to 1715 mAh does not seem to have a negative effect on the battery life, as thanks to iOS 9, the model ensures efficient energy consumption.

Should I still buy an iPhone 6s Plus in 2019?

Indeed, it's an older model — but it's still going strong. A lot of new features on today's flashy and expensive phones are simply not needed by most people. The only drawbacks here is the high Apple premium/price and the 16 GB memory which is too small (in the basic version), so it's worth getting a bigger memory if possible. It's also worth paying the small premium, in our opinion, to get the Plus over the smaller non-Plus model, as you get a much nicer screen.

ExpertReviews gave the 6s Plus the "Excellent" rating (5 out of 5) and once again draws attention to its powerful A9 CPU, the fast TouchID sensor and the 3D Touch display. In addition, they say, there is a lot of sophisticated technology in the sturdy aluminum housing, such as a better iSight and FaceTime camera, even if the optical image stabilider on the 6S is sorely missing. As a small fly in the ointment, the only missing features are with regard to the battery life and the somewhat now dated design.

If you are looking to compare iPhone pay monthly prices and don't want to break the bank, then the iPhone 6S Plus is still available on very cheap contracts. However you may wish to consider the newer iPhone 7 Plus which has a lot more features and a similar price.
